I think they choose a pretty crumby day to show their heads since it snowed/hailed today. Even though I don't have any in my own yard, tulips are so pretty and happen to be one of my favorite flowers!

Newborn Edits; Before & After
Everyone loves a good before and after. Newborns are hard to shoot. The post processing is pretty intensive comparted to what I prefer to do. That being said...it is worth it! He is 6 days old in this shot. He's so precious!

Not quite Sitting {M.O.M}
Here are two more from the other day. She is not quite sitting up but she is working on it.

Screaming Spring
I am glad this family asked me to take their portraits. It was a beautiful day and it is always fun to watch families interact. I thought this one was really fun even though it is more of an out take. They are beautiful and doesn't this just scream spring! Thanks "B" family!

She's THREE
I guess these are her official 3-year old pictures. I had it in my head that she needed a beautiful dress so somehow I found myself at the mall. That could be a blog post in and of itself. I'll give you a glimsp of how it went. When I told her what we were looking for she said, "I don't need a new dress mom, I already have one." I should have just said yes and left. I did find a dress I loved and was willing to buy and when I showed it to her she refused to entertain it because it wasn't pink. So, she got to wear this adorable shirt and jeans for her special pictures.
By the time I got to my location, the only lighting option I really had was back-lighting. I love that the grass and flowers are peaking out everywhere. Spring is so close, I can almost smell it! :)
For you lphotogs who care, I was shooting with my 85mm and tried to stay above f/2.8 because apparently my hands are not steady and practiced enough to go lower. :)

I love this kid
Parenting is hard and frequently overwhelming. I think I am usually too hard on him. As he goes out the door every morning, I pray he has the self-confidence to stand up for and believe in himself. I hope I have taught him the right so he knows how to choose. It can sometimes be stressful, but I am so glad he came to our home. He is a special kid and seems to be very respectful of which I am grateful.
