About Me

I am a very normal (at least I think) real person.  Let me just tell you that chances are I won't look like the photo above for your session. I have a family and a life and most days amd just trying to keep up.  ;)

Photography inspires and challenges me. I have very early memories of wanting to be a photographer. In college I took several courses, but the practical part of me wasn't brave enough to choose it as a career. When my husband and I started having children, I knew it was something I had to continue. We live in Meridian, Idaho and now have 4 children. They will always be my favorite subjects, but I hope you like what you see on this blog and give me a chance to capture moments of memories you can't afford to forget!

We live in Meridian, Idaho and our kids attend schools in the Kuna School District. My children and husband come first but when I have a chance to relax and read (I get that from my mom), I love it to be focused on photography.   I have a Bachelor's degree in Public Communications and a minor in Spanish from the University of Idaho.  I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their lives (I get that from my dad).  I grew up on a nearly 800 acre farm in southern Idaho and have been adjusting to "city" life ever since. We just purchased a different house on TEN acres. We are in heaven!

My style is still evolving but I would say I strive to give you "normal" shots.  There is a lot of incredibly gorgeous photography in the market right now.  Although I love the trends in photography, I try to stay focused on classic, real and practical.

IN MY BAG (because let's face it, you want to know)

Body:  Nikon D700
Lens:  My favorites are the 50mm and 85mm.  Though I have many others.
Editing:  I have a laptop that is super convinient, but I primarily use a desktop PC with a 25" screen.  I edit with Adobe Lightroom 3.0 and Adobe Photoshop CS5.  If you are just getting started, Adobe Elements would probably be more than enough program for you to handle.
Extras:  Of course I have things like a tripod, lens filters, reflector, computer color management, extra batteries, compact flash cards, white balance targets......the list goes on.
